Over the course of his 40 year commercial, editorial and advertising photography career, Duke Wells has worked for numerous clients throughout the United States, Canada and Latin America; photographing a variety of subjects including automobiles, architectural photography, portraiture, products, food and fashion.
He strives to meld the worlds of documentary and fine art in his work, endeavoring to create images that stop the eye and set the mood, telling a story that reaches the viewer in an informative and emotional way.
Duke has won numerous awards for his work. His photographs have been published in magazines, corporate annual reports and international advertising campaigns. His work has also been exhibited in galleries in both the United States and The Bahamas.
Portraits by Duke for the Bahamian Project resulted in the “Bahamian Collection”, an exhibition of fine art portraiture at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB), as part of the official events for the 40th Anniversary of The Bahamas’ Independence.
A native of the USA, Duke lives with his artist wife Lisa, two dogs and five cats in Nassau, The Bahamas.
